Legal Sea Foods Donates $100,000 to Boston Children’s Hospital

Legal Sea Foods Restaurant Group, the iconic New England-based restaurant brand with over 20 locations along the East Coast, has continued its philanthropic efforts with Boston Children’s Hospital, donating $100,000 earlier this month. The restaurant brand has been a loyal supporter of the hospital, and is committed to raising funds through various initiatives including its holiday gift card fundraiser and its annual Chowda Day event. The recent proceeds were hand-delivered by Legal Sea Foods and PPX Hospitality leadership who were then treated to a private tour of the research facility these funds aim to support.

“There is no greater inspiration than healthy children. At Legal Sea Foods, we are very committed to supporting Boston Children’s Hospital research in their search for cures, in addition to the wonderful care they provide to children and adolescents,” said Ann Marie Escobar, Brand President and Chief Operating Officer of Legal Sea Foods Restaurant Group. “We are so grateful to our amazing guests and restaurant teams who participate in these fundraising events which allow us to help fuel discoveries at Boston Children’s year after year.”

The donation was accepted by Dr. Leonard Zon who leads the Stem Cell Research Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. The Legal Sea Foods team presented the hospital with a $100,000 check to help fund the hospital's Zon Laboratory to advance essential research. Dr. Zon and his talented team graciously guided the Legal Sea Foods group on a tour of the lab, where they were able to see the direct impact of their fundraising efforts in the Stem Cell Research Program and learn more about the everyday work in researching blood cancers and other diseases using the zebrafish model of research.
